Crow of the Returning Fire
This one of a kind crow medicine set was created as a reflection on endings, transformation and the ancient spiral path that lives beneath all things.
At its heart is a hand painted river stone gathered from the Sieber River in the Harz Mountains, measuring 9 x 6.5 cm. Upon the stone stands crow beside the sacred spiral, surrounded by words written in Theban script:
“In the red dusk of spirit, crow carries the fire of return. Every ending curls inward to the ancient centre.”
I use Theban script throughout my work because it feels like a bridge between the ordinary and the sacred. The words become symbols as well as language, inviting the soul to engage with meaning beyond the thinking mind.
Accompanying the main stone is a polished volcanic stone bearing crow footprints and the word crow in Theban. The footprints represent signs left upon the path, reminders that wisdom often arrives quietly and asks only that we pay attention.
