Grandmother Rowan – Guardian of Memory
There are trees that quietly hold the stories of the land, and among them the Rowan has long been honoured as a guardian of memory, protection and ancient wisdom.
Hand-painted on a beautifully shaped Sieber River stone, Grandmother Rowan embodies the gentle, nurturing spirit of this much-loved tree. Her calm gaze and weathered face speak of countless seasons, while clusters of bright Rowan berries shine as symbols of courage, resilience and the enduring light found in nature.
Encircling the stone in Theban script are the words:
"The berries burn with ancient light.
The leaves speak softly in the wind.
The old ones are never far away."
This original artwork measures 11.5 x 8 cm and has been individually painted using professional acrylics before being carefully sealed to preserve its rich colours and fine detail.
