Heron Spirit — Ancestral Altar Collection
Heron has long stood at the threshold where earth, water and sky become one. She is the keeper of still waters, the patient watcher, and the quiet guide who teaches us that wisdom is found not by searching, but by standing still enough for the living world to reveal itself.
This unique altar collection has been created as a companion for those who feel drawn to the ancient relationship between bird, stone, water and deep time.
At its heart stands a hand-painted self-standing wooden Heron figure, 19 cm tall. Behind Heron, the labyrinth reminds us that every path eventually returns to its source, while the ancient trees speak of rootedness, memory and the enduring presence of the wild.
Alongside Heron is a beautiful Amazonite flame, 8 cm high. Its soft river-green tones reflect calm waters and gentle balance, encouraging peaceful reflection and clear communication with the natural world.
Also included is a whole polished ammonite, polished on both sides. Formed in ancient seas millions of years ago, the ammonite carries the timeless spiral, a symbol of continual becoming, of cycles that never truly end, and of the spiral woven through every returning.
The collection also includes a hand-painted river stone, 7 × 5 cm, bearing the ancient spiral, a simple talisman of stillness and remembrance.
To accompany the artwork is my Heron booklet, exploring Heron through an animistic lens. Within its pages I share Heron's symbolism, seasonal teachings, ways of working with Heron as a spirit ally, and reflections on stillness, patience, listening and the wisdom held within the living landscape.
Every piece has been painted and assembled by hand in my studio in the Harz Mountains. No two collections will ever be the same. I work slowly, allowing the natural materials to guide the finished piece, honouring the stories already held within wood, stone and fossil.
This is an altar collection for those who find meaning beside quiet rivers, who recognise the old wisdom carried by feather and fossil, and who understand that the deepest teachings are often spoken in silence.
