Heron Talking Stick
This one of a kind Heron Talking Stick has been created from a naturally weathered piece of driftwood, shaped over many years by wind, rain and flowing water.
 Measuring almost 30 cm in length, it is both a ceremonial object and a piece of ancestral artwork, created to accompany moments of reflection, storytelling and quiet connection.
Hand painted with Heron, spirals and ancient symbols, it carries the words:
"The oldest waters still remember.
They carry the breath of forgotten forests,
the spiral of ancient seas,
and the footsteps of those
who walked with Heron
before memory had a name."
These words are written in Theban, an ancient-looking script that I use throughout my work. I choose Theban because it encourages the words to be felt rather than simply read. It slows the mind, inviting you into the quiet space where intuition, memory and symbol speak more deeply than ordinary language.
Attached to the base is a naturally formed hagstone, suspended alongside a Gobi agate. The hagstone, shaped by flowing water, has long been regarded in European folklore as a stone of thresholds and vision, while the Gobi agate, sculpted over countless ages by desert wind and earth, speaks of endurance, transformation and deep time. Together they unite the ancient powers of water, wind and stone.
