Heron Magic — Driftwood Guardian of the Ancient Waters
This unique driftwood guardian has been created from a naturally weathered piece of wood, shaped by time and the patient work of the elements. Painted by hand, Heron emerges from the grain as a keeper of stillness, carrying the quiet wisdom of rivers, forgotten shores, and the ancient turning of life.
Embedded within the driftwood is a genuine polished ammonite, a creature that swam the Earth's oceans millions of years ago. Its spiral speaks of continuity, transformation, and the endless rhythm of return. To me it represents the spiral woven through every returning, reminding us that nothing in nature is ever truly lost.
Suspended from the base is a naturally formed hag stone and a Gobi agate. The hag stone has been shaped by flowing water and has long been regarded in folklore as a stone of thresholds and deeper sight. The Gobi agate carries a different story. Formed deep within the Earth and later weathered by the winds and sands of the Gobi Desert, it speaks of endurance, resilience, and the quiet passage of immense time. Together they unite the ancient voices of water and wind.
Heron stands at the meeting place of these elements, reminding us that true wisdom is found in stillness, patience, and deep listening. Around her are hand-painted spirals and sacred markings, echoing the old paths and the unseen currents that continue to shape both the land and ourselves.
