Fine Art Print — Swan - Keeper of the Held Fire
This A5 fine art print is taken from my original Swan painting and printed on beautifully textured 320 gsm archival cotton paper, chosen to hold the depth, softness, and quiet strength of the image.
Theban script carry the words....
Water holds the white one. Stone and silt know her weight.
Earth turns beneath the frost, not waking,
only remembering how to soften.
Air rests in feather and hollow bone, breath held,
breath waiting.
Fire is kept small and faithful, a warmth carried
inwards through the long dark night.
Here at the thin place of the year, nothing is taken.
Nothing is forced.
The Swan stands for the old way
to listen,
to tend,
to keep the breath
until the land is ready
to breathe itself alive.
Swan carries the essence of Imbolc through her body and presence. She moves between water, earth, air, and fire, holding each in balance. Water bears her weight, earth turns slowly beneath frost, air rests in feather and hollow bone, and fire is kept small and faithful within. She teaches the old way — to listen rather than hurry, to tend rather than take, and to wait until the land is ready to soften.
At Imbolc, Swan stands at the thin place of the year, where nothing is forced and warmth is allowed to gather in its own time. This print holds that moment of restraint and remembrance, when life prepares itself quietly for return.
The print comes with a companion booklet exploring Swan as a guardian of still waters and seasonal thresholds, with reflections on working with Swan through the year and her particular presence at Imbolc.
Printed to last, this piece is intended as a gentle seasonal presence for altars, quiet spaces, and places of reflection.
