Wildwood Connection

This piece was born from one of the deepest connections of my life.
For nearly twenty years, a red deer stag came quietly to my garden each day. Over time he became far more than a wild animal passing through the landscape. He became a living presence woven into the rhythm of my life, a being of memory, stillness and ancient knowing. There was something timeless in his eyes,  something that felt older than words.
This painting was created using my own photograph of the stag who walked beside my life for so many years. Around him I painted the dreamlike threads of the Wildwood - roots, spirals, ancient symbols and soul memory - all flowing together in a place between worlds. 
Beside him rests the feminine spirit of the forest, held within the quiet protection of antler, branch and earth.
The magpie above carries the voice of the woodland watcher, while the golden labyrinth upon the stag’s chest represents the soul path, the ancient inward journey that connects us to memory, ancestry and the wild places within ourselves.
Each print is professionally produced on beautiful fine art paper and carefully hand embellished by me with gold details, making every piece slightly unique. The surface has a soft richness that holds the depth and atmosphere of the original painting beautifully.
This is a piece for those who feel a deep connection to deer, the old forests, spirit of place, and the silent bond that can form between human and wild being.
